Every Oculus Quest 2 owner is now asking, “Does Oculus Quest 2 support Bluetooth headphones?”.
Although the Oculus Quest 2 has an inbuilt audio system, can headphones be used? It might come in handy at times. When you don’t want other people to be disturbed, you can play a game or watch a movie in bed.

Can You Use Bluetooth Headphones On Oculus Quest 2?
Oculus does not mention Bluetooth compatibility officially. According to Oculus’ support pages:
In addition to 3.5mm headphones, Quest 2 also supports USB-C headphones.
Despite acknowledging support for wired headphones, they do not mention Bluetooth. Quest 2 USB-C headphones were officially made compatible with Oculus on July 20th, 2021.
Although Bluetooth headphones aren’t officially supported, players may still be able to connect them to their headsets. Oculus offers experimental features.
How To Connect Bluetooth Headphones To Oculus Quest 2
You can pair your Quest 2 headset via Bluetooth by enabling Experimental Features. AirPods can also be used with Oculus Quest 2. The following steps should be followed:
- Open the Settings menu from your Quest 2
- Features selected for experimental use
- You need to turn on your headphones and make sure they are detectable, then press the Pair button next to Bluetooth Pairing to pair them
- You should be able to select your headphones from the available devices
You’re done! Oculus Quest 2 can be connected to AirPods this way.
At the moment, Quest 2 doesn’t officially support this feature. This may cause lag and audio to be out of sync with what’s happening on screen. Netflix and games seem to be more affected than apps.
You have nothing to lose by trying Bluetooth headphones if you are really interested in doing so. It won’t void your Oculus Quest warranty or damage your VR headset. If the experience doesn’t live up to your expectations, don’t be too disappointed.
The jury is still out on whether the Meta Quest 3 will support Bluetooth, and we’ll have to wait and see if Oculus adds this feature in the future.
